In The Spotlight: Private Parties
Turn up the music, open a bottle of wine, snack on yummy appetizers, laugh with your friends, and go home with free meals* for your family when you organize a private party with us.

Private parties are as much fun as you can have preparing dinners for your family. We set up the kitchen just for your group. You can bring your iPod or a cd and we’ll play your favorite playlist (otherwise we’ll share one of our favorite playlists with you). You can also bring a bottle of wine to share with your friends, and we’ll provide plenty of appetizers (usually something that will appear on the menu soon, so you get a sneak preview). And, best of all, as the party organizer you get a credit equal to 10% of pre-tax sales of everybody in your party, so if your party included 6 people who all spent about $100, you would get a $60 credit, enough for about 3 meals!

Private parties are now easier than ever to organize. Just give us a call (303–440–3828) or send us an email (mail@theorganicdish.com) to arrange the date and time of your party. We’ll instantly set up a special web page where you can log in and easily invite your guests, see who has ordered (and send reminders to guests who haven’t), track the organizer’s credit you have earned, and order your meals. Your guests will also be able to log in and see who else is coming to the party, and order their meals.

* The number of free meals depends on the total pre-tax sales for your party. The organizer’s credit equals 10% of pre-tax sales.

Recipe Idea: Cornbread With Fresh Corn
Nothing goes with soup or a hearty stew better than moist cornbread, especially when it’s made with fresh, locally grown corn.

Makes 6–8 servings:
1½ whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
2–3 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon sea salt
¼ corn oil
2 tablespoons brown rice syrup
½ cup rice milk
½–1 cup water
½ cup fresh corn kernels

Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly oil and flower a 9-inch-square baking dish.
Stir together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt into a bowl.
In another bowl whisk together oil, rice syrup, rice milk and ½ cup water.
Stir into dry ingredients until just blended. Add more water if needed to create a velvety, spoonable batter.
Gently fold in the corn and spoon batter into prepared pan and bake 35–40 minutes, until golden at the edges and the center springs back to the touch. "Guten Appetit!"

September Menu Offers Different Starches
The September menu features lots of tasty, healthy organic meals, like Sweet Potatoes And Chickpeas Topped With Coconut Flakes, Grilled Scallops with Orange And Thyme, and our Sesame Chicken And Edamame Bowl.

These meals are quick and easy to make, and they are all available with your choice of starch. Each meal is paired with a suggested starch on our menu (e.g. the Sesame Chicken And Edamame Bowl comes with Udon noodles), but you can substitute any other starch we have available at no additional charge.

Available starches include brown Basmati rice, couscous, quinoa, (wheat) pasta, rice pasta, and Udon noodles.

Why Didn’t We Think Of That?
Helle suggested that we incorporate quinoa into our lineup of available starches, and that’s exactly what we’ve done starting with the September menu. Quinoa (pronounced KEEN-whah) is a high-energy grain that – because it is so easy to digest – is an ideal endurance and fitness food. When cooked the wispy germ separates from the seed, and its almost crunchy texture makes a great contrast to the soft grain.

Based on your feedback we also increased the amount of tofu in our vegetarian tofu dishes.
