We get what we promote – Laudisio’s, Boulder Farmers Market, Oxford Garden

It was a chilly morning at the market today, but nearly all the vendors were there and there was also a nice turnout of folks. Toby and I decided not to have a booth this year at the market, but you will see us there every Saturday checking out what’s growing locally and also eating Eggs and Puttenesca from Laudisio’s.

Our good friend Peter owns Oxford Gardens in Niwot. You can find Peter every week at the Boulder Farmers Market. Oxford Gardens has a couple openings for it’s CSA.  Their 2009 CSA season runs for 20 weeks, from Wednesday, June 3rd through Wednesday, October 17th .  Every week you receive a diverse mix of fresh, in-season produce. Most of the vegetables are harvested only hours before they are packed up for you.  Learn more about it at the Oxford Gardens website.

What is a CSA?

CSA (Community Supported Agriculture program) creates a direct relationship, a partnership, between you and the farm, and between the consumption and production of food. This is a mutually beneficial arrangement, where in exchange for your commitment to buy a share in a farm’s harvest, they commit to grow exceptionally high quality vegetables and herbs and provide a bountiful portion of it to you during the peak of the growing season.

  1. Hey speaking of the Farmers Market, I just noticed a pic of the two of you on the new Boulder Soupworks Website! http://www.bouldersoupworks.com/our_story.html

  2. Thanks for the link Ryan. Gonna be another cold and wet day at the market tomorrow. Wonder if any vendors/farmers will show.
