June Menu

This is our June menu – you missed it, but we may still have some items in our freezer, so stop by our kitchen before they’re all gone.

As you may have heard, a recent outbreak of Salmonella food poisoning has been linked to consumption of raw red plum, red Roma, and round red tomatoes.

All tomatoes used in our food come from growers and regions that are not associated with this outbreak. In addition, all tomatoes we use have been tested for Salmonella by independent third parties and are certified safe.

We will continue to follow the CDC investigation closely to ensure all of our food continues to be safe. If you want to stay informed, more information about the outbreak is available on the FDA website.

Chef of the Month

Each month a local guest/celebrity chef contributes one recipe to our menu. Our Chef of the Month for July is Elizabeth Perreault.

Currently co-owner of Rustica Baking (www.rusticabaking.com), Elizabeth Perreault has been in the food industry for over 20 years – she’s done everything from bus tables to cooking in a two-star restaurant in France to teaching both culinary and pastry arts for home cooks and at a professional level. While baking is her current focus, the savory side of food is near to her heart – Rustica makes tasty savory baked goods too. This month’s recipe is a reflection of her cooking travels around the world. Thailand is a fabulous country and their food is beautifully complex – spicy, sweet, sour, a little salt and a touch of bitter. All in each bite.

Cincinnati Chili

Cincinnati is famous for it’s cinnamon-laced chili over noodles with spices and cheese. For our twist we added a bit of Indian garam masala.

While you boil a pot of pasta, the ground beef (and other ingredients) simmer in a large sauce pan, so everything is ready in just about 20 minutes.

Regular (serves 2–3 people): $ 22.56 ($ 7.52/serving)
Large (serves 4–6 people): $ 42.86 ($ 7.14/serving)

Note: this recipe contains non-organic garam masala and cinnamon.

Ingredients: ground beef, sea salt, yellow onions, garlic, olive oil, garam marsala, cinnamon, chili powder, tomato paste, water, kidney beans, cannellini beans, parsley, spaghetti, tomatoes, cheddar cheese.

Meets FDA guidelines for low sodium, low cholesterol, and high fiber.
